Yvonne Fewtrell - Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist BSc (Hons) MBPsS MSc CBP / Accredited practitioner in EMDR
The initial session is used to try to determine the nature and cause of your current difficulties and how therapy could best help you. The session will give both of us the opportunity of considering whether we wish to work together. It is just as important that you feel comfortable with your therapist, as it is that your therapist feels able to work with you. Attending the initial session does not commit you to proceed with therapy.
(Please note that payment of half of my fee is required for the initial assessment session to secure the room. Payment of the balance is required at the end of the session either by cash or cheque. Unfortunately, credit card payments are not possible. See terms and conditions).
If we decide to work together we will arrange to meet for an agreed number of sessions. As therapy comes to an end we will jointly review progress and discuss what further action, if any, may be needed. There is no obligation to continue therapy and you are free to terminate your therapy at any time.
All sessions last 50 minutes. If you are late arriving we will still end at the usual time. The number of sessions required varies as it depends on the nature of the problem and the person’s needs. Commonly, CBT is offered on a weekly or fortnightly basis.
